From the time I was a child myself, I dreamed of working with orphan children. When I first heard about Agape Ministries, I immediately knew that this was just what I was looking for!
Soon Agape Ministries will celebrate it's 10th anniversary. In some ways it seems like a long time, in others, not long at all. When we stop to consider - the tears and laughter, the heights of joy and depths of despair...it's by God’s grace we have learned and grown through it all.
As I approach the classroom, I can already hear the noise of loud voices and laughter. I'm on my way to a group of 9th graders today...
The village of Kalininskoye is located in the Kherson Region, ninety-three miles from Kherson. There are two orphanages in this remote village. For almost 10 years now, Agape Ministries staff has been serving the children in these orphanages...
I work in an orphanage for the very smallest children, from 1 year to 3-4 years old. I teach Bible lessons there three times a week. Many Christians that I meet are not supportive of my ministry. They don’t believe that such little children are capable of believing in God. However, I know that they’re mistaken.
"What is this, Andrey?" The boy began to tremble and said quietly: "It's my father, he tortured me ..."
Andrey was a mischievous and cheerful boy. He was thin and very bright. He had a resonant voice that could be heard far down a hallway. When we first met and were acquainted, he behaved like an adult.
They are in such desperate need of our love. Their wounds are bleeding from the inside.
I began my service in the orphanage in the year of 2005. It was difficult when I first started. The class consisted of only little boys, but what boys! Only about one would actually listen to my words and even then he didn't always listen. Every time I came to the lesson, I pleaded to the Lord for him. And God gave me the support, He strengthened the desire to carry His word to these wounded hearts. They are in such desperate need of our love.
Day of prayer for orphans in Ukraine
Even at the last defensive line
Our ray of faith has not gone out
God save Ukraine,
Lord, have mercy on us.
The month of studies is behind us. The time passes relentlessly fast. You cannot stop it- like the waters of a creek. The days outside are changing, like a kaleidoscope. Life escapes. I am so eager to bring a lot of fruit to the Lord. God, give me strength, so that I may not be faint in this challenging and inequitable spiritual warfare.
With every year God abundantly blesses the youth conference in Malin (the region of Ghitomirskoy). Many young people gather here and many of them accept the Lord into their hearts.
