Looking back: 2014 - A special Christmas for orphans!

This past winter, December and January were very, very busy months for us here in Ukraine. Every single one of Agape’s ministry teams  (staff and volunteers) put in a lot of work, taking their Christmas outreach programs to orphanages all over Ukraine. Agape’s different ministry teams really did their best to bring Christmas to life for the orphans they visited. They put together some great Christmas plays that brought home the true meaning of Christmas; they played all sorts of games with the kids, sang Christmas carols with them, and of course gave them all Christmas presents. Altogether, there were 142 Agape volunteers and staff members who visited a total of 46 orphanages and gave out 4761 Christmas presents. Praise the Lord!

Some feedback on these programs:

“We saw a really good play about how Jesus was born and how the shepherds and wise men came to worship Him. Most importantly, we learned that Jesus is the Son of God who came to give us eternal life.”  Oleg, 15yo – Sofievka orphanage

“I would like to thank all of the Agape staff and volunteers for the interesting, instructive and beautiful Christmas program that they put on for the children of our orphanage. From all of the children here and all of the teachers here, I would like to express our gratitude – we don’t have people put on these kinds of programs for us very often, and they’re just what’s needed to form a real understanding of Biblical truths in the children’s hearts.”  Orphanage Vice Principal – Dnepropetrovsky region

“The Christmas play we put on was an amazing event not only for the orphans, but for us as well! The holiday atmosphere in the orphanage auditoriums, the shining eyes of the children, and just the whole message of Christmas… it was really a special time, filled with joy! We praise the Lord for giving us this opportunity – we are so grateful for His working in the children’s hearts, they were very open to the Christmas story – and we are grateful for His love for us! May God’s peace and love bless the life of each and every child we saw this Christmas!” - Agape ministry team, Krivoi Rog

“Over the three weeks of our outreach trips, there were so many good times! This was our first big effort as a ministry team, so there were places where we entered an orphanage or shelter for the first time, and there were also visits with children whom we already knew. We thank the Lord for giving us this special time of ministry… and we believe that there is so much more ahead of us - this is only the beginning! God is good all the time! We are very thankful to all who pray and take part in ministering to orphans!” - Agape ministry team, Poltava

Dear friends, we want to once again wish you all the best for this new year! We here at Agape Ministries, International want to thank each and every one of you who reached out to the children of Ukraine over the past year.  Thank you for ministering to orphans alongside us. May God bless you and reward you a hundredfold for your love and generosity.

You know, as we take these holiday programs to orphanages all over Ukraine, we are not only giving these precious children presents, we are not only wishing them a ‘Merry Christmas!’ …we are telling them that there is a Creator God, and that He wants to become their Father. Our wish for you, our friends, is that you also would put all your hope and trust in God our Father in this new year.

“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.” Ps.55:23

May the Lord richly bless you!
